Volunteer Work can be beneficial and enriching for both sides. Sol de Primavera benefits from the volunteers’ social and professional abilities, while the volunteers get a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience daily life absorbed in another culture, to perfect their language skills, to establish new social contacts and to develop both professionally and mentally. There are regularly two Swiss volunteers supporting the team in Quito during the same period of time. The volunteers’ collaboration is of great support for the project and also a big challenge for all the involved parties. To guarantee a successful co-operation the following conditions must be fulfilled:

• Readiness to work in the foundation Sol de Primavera for at least five months
• Good Spanish language skills
• Minimum of 20 years of age
• Completed training (or nearly completed) in one of the following areas: baker, carpenter, teacher, educator, socio-pedagogic work, tailor, social worker or medical work.

We cannot pay for the volunteers’ journey to Ecuador, but during his or her stay in Quito we provide a room with private bath and a small kitchen, situated very near the foundation. In addition the volunteers can have daily lunch in the foundation and use the kitchen facilities if they wish.
